About RGBMap
Open data availability & registry protocol for RGB assets.
The problem it solves
RGB is the protocol that brings assets to Bitcoin, and it validates on the client: the details of a contract live with the people using it, not on a public ledger.
So an asset can be real and still be invisible. The issuer has nowhere to register, wallets do not know what to display, and two tokens can share a name with no way to tell them apart.
What it does
Every asset gets a public page: its contract id, name, ticker, logo, links, and the signature of the address that registered it.
Anyone can look one up. Wallets and markets can read the same record, instead of each keeping a list of their own.
Registering is open
- No approval step, and no account
- A registration is a signed declaration — it takes effect if the signature checks out
- Nothing published is ever deleted
What it does not do
RGBMap does not judge. It states what it checked, one line at a time, and never folds that into a "verified" badge.
- It does not say an asset is safe, official, or worth anything
- It is not a global RGB ledger: it cannot list every asset, or show who holds what
Open by design
The API is free and read-only. Anyone can mirror the data, or run an index of their own.
